CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

The Indonesia-Australia Forest Carbon Partnership (IAFCP) is seeking THREE qualified and experienced consultants to undertake a study on the socio-economic and institutional impacts of the Kalimantan Forests and Climate Partnership (KFCP) program, a REDD+ demonstration activity in the District of Kapuas, Central Kalimantan.


The study will involve the analysis of existing quantitative data, reports and other information, some primary qualitative research in Kalimantan and the delivery of a report of publishable standard.

Pre-qualification criteria for each position to be addressed in the EOI, are as follows:

1. Team Leader, Socio-economic Impact Study (Position reference: TL SIS)
· An English speaker with proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, holding at least a Masters degree in Economics, Social Sciences or other relevant majors, who is a highly qualified researcher with at least 15 years of solid experience in socio-economic impact assessment, and proven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
· As the study coordinator and a lead writer, he/she should have strong leadership and management skills, with excellent inter-personal communication skills.
· Demonstrated relevant experience and/or knowledge on environmental issues, climate change or REDD+.
· Proven writing skills in major assignments to which he/she substantially contributed.
· Familiarity with Indonesian socio-economic related issues is an advantage.
· Experience and knowledge of Central Kalimantan is an advantage

2. Consultant for Qualitative Research, Socio-economic Impact Study (Position reference: CQL SIS)
· Holding at least a Masters degree, or a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, and at least 8 years of demonstrated qualitative research experience (field works and analysis), with exceptional English and adequate writing skills.
· Demonstrated relevant experience and/or knowledge on environmental issues, climate change or REDD+.
· Proven writing skills on major assignments to which he/she substantially contributed.
· Experience and knowledge of Central Kalimantan is an advantage.
· Familiarity with Indonesian socio-economic related issues is an advantage.

3. Consultant for Quantitative Research, Socio-economic Impact Study (Position reference: CQN SIS)
· Holding at least a Masters degree in Statisics or Social Sciences, or a Bachelors degree and at least 8 years of demonstrated quantitative research experience (raw data analysis), with exceptional English and adequate writing skills.
· Demonstrated relevant experience and/or knowledge on environmental issues, climate change or REDD+.
· Proven writing skills of major assignments in which he/she substantially contributed.
· Experience and knowledge of Central Kalimantan is an advantage.
· Familiarity with Indonesian socio-economic related issues is an advantage.

Each of three assignments will require approximately 40 days over a period of 4 months, commencing in November 2013 and expected to finalize the report by early March 2014.
